Gābl Media Group, Inc., the first of its kind digital multimedia network dedicated to the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industries and ARCAT, Inc., the most active and comprehensive online building product sourcing platform of its kind in North America, today announced a partnership to produce Detailed: an original podcast by ARCAT, a narrative podcast aimed at pulling back the curtain on the AEC industry to help architecture and construction professionals navigate their way through the various challenges that arise during the design and construction process.

Hosted by Cherise Lakeside, a senior specification writer at RDH Building Science, CSI Fellow and 35- year veteran in the AEC industry fondly known by her colleagues as the CSI Kraken, Detailed features architects, engineers, builders and manufacturers who share their expertise and highlight some of the most complex, interesting and oddest building conditions they have ever encountered—and divulge just how they solved them through ingenuity and innovation. Every building has a story – join Lakeside as she explores the incredible stories of conflict and triumph that have arisen during the design and construction process, and uncovers lessons learned that will help her listeners anticipate and navigate any assortment of challenges that may arise during the course of their projects.

“We are excited to join forces with ARCAT to bring our listeners this enlightening new series,” said Mark R. LePage, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Gābl Media. “ARCAT is widely recognized as a powerful resource for AEC professionals looking to find building product information and product content such as specs, CAD and BIM. Through this partnership and collaboration with our production division Gābl Creative, ARCAT will now be able to add Detailed to its extensive resource library.”

“Our philosophy at ARCAT is to create the most user-friendly website, free of registration, to supply product data in all formats needed to save the AEC community time in finding, selecting, detailing, and specifying building products for their construction projects. This podcast series will be an extension of that philosophy and another format for our users to learn more about the design and construction process as well as hear real-world examples of building product application.” said Casey Jannott, CEO of ARCAT.

“Cherise is an engaging host, and her involvement with the Construction Specifications Institute and background as an instructor, trainer, and speaker – to name a few roles – in the industry very much shine through,” added Dimitrius J. Lynch, Chief Creative Officer and co-founder of Gābl Media. “The stories that are explored, the issues that are confronted, and the resolutions that are conceived to address them are fascinating to hear and incredibly valuable to any professional that has or will in the future become involved in the design or construction process.”

“ARCAT is continuing to find ways to make AEC professionals’ jobs easier – that’s why we make our CAD, BIM, and specifications free to use and easy to find, and why we developed the patented SpecWizard to make specifications easy to configure and generate. It only makes sense to take part in a podcast like Detailed, because sharing the ingenious solutions these professionals are coming up with will help someone facing a unique design challenge themselves. We know Detailed is in capable hands with Cherise and Gābl, and we think listeners outside the AEC community will find Detailed very interesting as well.”

Founded in 1991 with the introduction of The ARCAT Directory, affectionately known at the time as “The Big Red Book,” building product information moved from central libraries to the desktop. Not too many years later, in 1995, ARCAT would pioneer the first online building product sourcing platform, www.ARCAT.com, which continues to be the most active and comprehensive site of its kind in North America.
