With bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lawrence Technological University, she has completed numerous award-winning projects focused on adaptive use, renovation, and redevelopment. Saundra leads the charge in celebrating architectural legacy and uplifting vulnerable communities through creative yet practical design strategies. As the 2025-2026 President-Elect of NOMA and a founding Advisory Board member of Design Core Detroit, she actively champions initiatives that helped Detroit earn its designation as a UNESCO City of Design while continuously mentoring aspiring students. The inspiring co-host of the Hidden in Plain Site podcast on the Gābl Media Network, Saundra shares a deeply personal journey alongside Karen Burton. Together, they utilize this vital platform to elevate the careers and document the essential stories of historically overlooked Black architects, stemming from their acclaimed Noir Design Parti project. Her prominent leadership as a Principal and the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Quinn Evans Architects demonstrates her profound commitment to thoughtful design.  She expertly helps clients transform historic buildings, salvage neighborhoods, increase property values, and bring vibrant new life to aging communities. Saundra’s journey showcases her lifelong passion for architectural heritage. She continually leverages her interest in sustainable technology and materials to protect African-American neighborhoods and construct beautiful 21st-century educational, cultural, and workplace environments. HIDDEN IN PLAIN SITE Lifting the voices and elevating the careers of Black Architects who are passionate, community-oriented, yet often overlooked. Historically, the work of Black Architects has not been recognized at the same level and through the same lens as their peers. Although they attain the same education, perform on the same project teams, and complete similar project types, their credentials are questioned, and their work often goes unnoticed.As little girls, hosts, Saundra Little and Karen Burton dreamed of being Architects. Join them on a very personal journey as they weave together stories from the careers and lives of Black Architects and highlight Hidden-In-Plain-Site projects for their award-winning Noir Design Parti project that was birthed in Detroit.
